Sweden–Chile Focus Seminar on Advanced Modelling of Water-Related Processes

Time: 10 November 2025, 09:30-17:00

Location: Math library on 2nd floor, room Sigma

Purposes

One purpose of the focus seminar is to bring together researchers from Sweden and Chile on the modelling and simulation of water-related processes in drinking- and waste-water treatment, and mineral, chemical and geological engineering. Another purpose is to disseminate research in applied mathematics within the LTH Water Profile Area at Lund University, promoting interdisciplinary collaborations.

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences has had a fruitful research cooperation with joint supervision of PhD students for more than ten years between Lund University in Sweden and University of Concepción, Chile, with a focus on the modelling and simulation of separation processes. This collaboration has been supported and promoted by the Center for Water Resources for Agriculture and Mining (CRHIAM) in Chile and recently by LTH Water. From a national perspective, the collaborative platform Academic Collaboration Chile Sweden (ACCESS) was initiated 2016 to promote joint research and academic collaboration between the countries.
