Practical information
Here follows some practical information about the conference and Lund in general.
Travelling to Lund
The easiest way to get to Lund is to fly to Kastrup, the airport of Copenhagen. From there, there are regional trains leaving every 20 minutes and the trains take 40 minutes. Between midnight and the morning hours, the train only runs every hour.
The trains Kastrup-Lund and also local public transport in Lund is run by Skånetrafiken, see the following link. They have an app which is convenient for planning trips and buying tickets. There are also machines at the train stations to buy tickets.
Travelling in Lund
Inside Lund there are buses and a tram system, with only one tram line. The trams starting from the train station in Lund takes 5 minutes to the stop LTH (just next to the mathematics department) and 2 more minutes to the stop Ideontorget (where Elite Hotel Ideon is situated). The trams run every 10-20 minutes until midnight. You can buy tickets on the tram/bus with a credit card or the Skånetrafiken app. For time tables, see the following link.
Money in Sweden
Card is king in Sweden. Most places do not accept cash (currency is SEK=Swedish crown), but only credit card.
Lunch and campus
The department where the conference takes place is located on Sölvegatan 18a in Lund, here is a link to a google map. The easiest way to get there with public transport is the tram, the stop is called LTH.
Lunch options:
- Stamstället is located a few hundred meters from the mathematics department.
- Restaurant Inspira is situated somewhat further away.
(Due to it being summer most lunch places are closed.)

Eating and being in Lund
During summer, only half the population of Lund remains (the other are students). But there are plenty of tourists. Some things to see are:
For more information, see the homepage of the city for visitors to Lund.
During the Wednesday and Thursday of the conference week, there is a free live music event in the city park with several music artists that are "world famous in Sweden". It takes place on Vita Scenen.
Here are some restaurant suggestions. Beware that Lund is a student city, so restaurants tend to be either on the cheap side or on the more expensive side but the prices need not correlate with the level of the food...
- The falafel door: buy falafel through a door next to the main square
- Hos Talevskis: Italian style food, recommended to book, beautifully located in the city park
- Mui Gong: Chinese food, Kyrkogatan 21
- Lenoteket: wine place, also good food, just next to Mui Gong
- Grand Hotel: has a restaurant serving "Swedish food" (husmanskost), this is where the conference dinner will be.
- The Grand Indian: a south Indian place at Bantorget, next to Grand Hotel.
And some coffee shop suggestions:
- Love Coffee situated downtown, there is one at Clemenstorget and one on Klostergatan.
- Patisseriet on Klostergatan, downtown.
