Sound field estimation

Abstract

In this talk, we investigate how to estimate the sound field in a region of space from noisy microphone measurements. We also discuss how partial and uncertain room geometry information can serve as a prior, complementing the limited data provided by microphone signals. To address uncertainties, we employ a probabilistic framework based on Gaussian processes. Finally, I will (hopefully) demonstrate a live experiment, illustrating one of the practical applications of sound field estimation.
