Application for Courses, Autumn 2024

Owing to the flexible structure of the programme, enrolled students must apply for the courses that they wish to study each semester. The application is done via antagning.se (the Swedish version of universityadmissions.se). Programme students are guaranteed admission to all courses given by the Faculty of Science as long as the specific admission requirements are fulfilled and the application is submitted on time.

The autumn semester courses are open for applications from 15 March to 15 April  2024. It is important that you submit your application on time! All courses will be closed for application after the deadline and may or may not be reopened for late applications before the start of the semester. If you intend to write your Bachelor's thesis next semester contact the director of studies before the application deadline.

Note also that after the first selection results are communicated on 11 July, admitted students must accept or decline their study places, see more information on antagning.se. The deadline is 19 July and the final admission results are communicated on 25 July.

Contact the study advisor or the director of studies if you need assistance with your application.

Information meeting

An information meeting regarding course selection will be held on Friday 5 April at 15:15-17:00 in the Hörmander Lecture Hall.

We will present the course offerings in mathematics, mathematical statistics, numerical analysis and some other relevant subjects outside the mathematical disciplines given in the autumn semester of 2024.

Spring Semester 2024

The spring semester starts on Monday 15 January and will end on 2 June.

Regarding admission

All courses given in the spring semester have been open for application during the period 15 September - 16 October 2023. The admission process consists of two selection rounds. The first selection was completed on 11 December when all applicants received a notification of the preliminary admission results. Admitted applicants must answer to this notification no later than 18 December in order to keep the offered study or reserve place. The final notification of the admission results after the second selection round has been communicated on 21 December.

Certain courses were reopened for late applications on antagning.se on 15 December and some others open on 5 January. Other courses that currently have no study places available, may be opened for late applications after the start of the semester, alternatively in March before the start of the second academic period. Late applicants and applicants placed on the waiting list will receive a notification regarding admission in close proximity to the start of the course.

Most courses in mathematics are offered both as courses within our programmes and as independent courses. Neither the Bachelor's programme nor our Master's programmes have had admission before the spring semester 2024. The programmes are only announced before the autumn semester 2024 and the teaching is then given in English. The Master's programmes will only be open for registration during the early registration period, i.e. from and including 15 October 2023 to and including 15 January 2024 at universityadmissions.se. The Bachelor's programme in mathematics, however, will also be open for applications in the later national admissions round, during March 15 - April 16, 2024 at antagning.se.

Course information

The schedule for all courses in mathematics, mathematical statistics and numerical analysis will be published in the scheduling tool TimeEdit. More information about TimeEdit can be found under the heading Schedule in the left menu.

Websites for the spring semester courses will be available in the Canvas learning platform. Admitted students will automatically have access to the respective websites in Canvas.
