Pseudodifferential extensions using generalized fixed point algebras

Abstract: In this talk, I will explain how pseudodifferential extensions can be built using Rieffel's generalized fixed point algebras. This approach will be described for classical pseudodifferential operators on a manifold, but also for the inhomogeneous calculus on graded Lie groups or filtered manifolds. In case of a filtered manifold, the role of the principal symbol is replaced by a family of model operators acting on certain osculating groups. We prove that the Rockland condition for these model operators gives a Fredholm criterion for operators in this calculus. This talk is based on my PhD thesis which was supervised by Ralf Meyer and Ryszard Nest.
