Abstract

This master thesis is about predicting the fullness of garbage containers in order to help
a recycling company to optimise its garbage container collect. First the data is preprocessed
and data is classified using the k-means algorithm. Follows a modelling of the
filling rates of the garbage containers by the following regressions : linear regression,
polynomial regression, exponential regression and Michaelis-Menten regression. These
models are compared to each other. Finally, a generalized regression per type of
garbage containers is tested to be good enough.
