Title: Advances in Human Understanding and Synthesis

Abstract:

I will review recent advances in human understanding and synthesis — with an emphasis on complex reconstruction of people involved in interactions, photorealistic reconstruction and the generation of photorealistic, animatable 3D human models, including controllable audio-visual synthesis. I will highlight key technical developments, major advances, and practical applications. Finally, I will discuss future directions including foundation models — with applications at the intersection with robotics, medicine, and life sciences.
