Andreas Jakobsson

Professor of Mathematical Statistics

Andreas Jakobsson received his M.Sc. from Lund Institute of Technology (LTH) and his Ph.D. in Signal Processing from Uppsala University, respectively. Since, he has held positions with Global IP Sound AB, the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology, King's College London, and Karlstad University, as well as been an Honorary Research Fellow at Cardiff University. He has been a visiting researcher at King's College London, Brigham Young University, Stanford University, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, and University of California, San Diego, as well as acted as an expert for the IAEA. During 2022, he holds a visiting professorship at Harbin Engineering University. He is a member of The Royal Swedish Physiographic Society, a member of the EURASIP Technical Area Committee on Signal Processing for Multisensor Systems, a Senior Member of IEEE, Senior Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, as well as an Associate Editor for Elsevier Signal Processing. He has previously also been a member of board of Karlstad University, the IEEE Sensor Array and Multichannel (SAM) Signal Processing Technical Committee, an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, the IEEE Signal Processing Letters, the Research Letters in Signal Processing, and the Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a member of LTH's pedagogic academy and a board member of the Centre for Engineering Education at LTH. He received the 2019 annual best teacher award by the students at LTH, and the 2021 best teacher award from the Industrial Engineering and Management students. He is the founder of Babblecat AB and co-founder of Medotemic AB and VoiceDiagnostic Sweden AB. 

His research interests include statistical and array signal processing, detection and estimation theory, and related application in remote sensing, telecommunication and biomedicine.

Dr Jakobsson does not offer any internships.
