Viktor Linders

Postdoctoral Researcher in Numerical Analysis

My research interests encompass high order methods for time dependent partial differential equations, in particular the equations tackled by computational fluid dynamics (CFD). I primarily focus on techniques that fit within the Summation-By-Parts (SBP) framework, including finite difference and discontinuous Galerkin methods.

The preservation of physical invariants (mass, energy, entropy etc.) forms the backbone of robust high order methods. I study how these invariants can be preserved throughout the solution process, from discretization in space and time to the solution of the resulting nonlinear systems by iterative methods.

At the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, I am part of the research group of Philipp Birken.
