Solution to a problem from LTH Challenge

Abstract:

On Sunday, the 3rd of May, LTH's annual programming competition, LTH Challenge, will be held. It is open to everyone, including the reader! It will feature a number of problems related to algorithms, computer science, and mathematics, and the goal is to solve as many problems as possible.

This PhD seminar will take place the day after the competition, so I have picked out the problem that I think is most interesting for math PhDs and will go through a solution to it.
