Simulation Technique

In almost every field of science such as engineering, physics and economics there are processes that can be modeled mathematically. These mathematical models rarely have an analytical solution leaving the only option to find approximation to the solutions using simulation techniques.

One particular research theme, at the department, related to simulation techniques is in the area of simulation of coupled dynamic models in a co-simulation context. This means that the respective coupled models contain their own internal integrator, hidden from the coupling interface. Partners include the Lund Center for Control of Complex Engineering Systems, LCCC and Modelon AB

The research has also lead to the development of software. See for instance Assimulohttp://www.assimulo.org/ for simulation of dynamic models.
